Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

Today we explored Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.  We left Hickiwan Trails RV Park at 10:50am and drove 10 minutes to the entrance to the park.

There is no entrance station at the park boundry, just the signs.

We stopped at two scenic turnouts on the way to the visitor center.

The Visitor Center.

The Patio and nature walk around the visitor center.

We left the visitor center and took the Puerto Blanco Drive up to the Pinkley Peak Picnic Area and had lunch.  From this point on the Puerto Blanco Drive is recommended only for 4 wheel drive and high clearance vehicles and is one way only.

So after lunch we turned around and went back by the visitor center and crossed the road to the Ajo Mountain Drive which is a 21 mile loop.
