Yesterday's trip to Houghton Lake

Yesterday we packed up the coach and said goodbye to Camp Lord Willing for the winter.  I decided to try to get west of the rain so we headed for the Flying J on the west side of Lansing instead of heading north on I-75 to the Flying J north of Flint.  We came upon a 3 mile traffic tie up near Lansing just before the rest area where we planned to stop for lunch.
We did have some sprinkels while we were in the traffic tie up and we had a couple of pretty heavy rain showers after we left Flying J and drove north on US-127 between Alma and Mt Pleasant.  We did manage to avoid most of the heavy rain that was crossing Michigan.
After 235 miles and about 4:30pm we backed into Al & Barb Packman's driveway in Houghton Lake.  We will spend the holiday weekend visiting with these good friends and next Tuesday morning the 4 of us with 2 motorhomes will drive over to Hart Michigan for the Chapter #6 fall rally.
