Escapees Sun Gator Chapter #57 Rally and Bok Tower Gardens Tour

We drove down to Cypress Campground and RV Park in Winter Haven FL on Wednesday for the Escapees Sun Gator Ch#57 Rally.

 After breakfast 27 of the group carpooled down to Bok Tower and Gardens 

 Arriving at the Gardens we were met by a docent.

 We entered the visitors center and view a short movie about the gardens.

 After the movie we went into the museum area.

 We then had time to explore the gardens before our guided tour.

This guy had just crossed the path a couple of yards ahead of me.

 About 11:15am several of us had lunch at the cafe.

 Then at 12:00 we started our guided tour.

 Our Tour Guide Pete a retired Park Ranger from the Everglades.

 We arrived at the tower just before the live music presentation started.

 I took pictures around the tower during the live music presentation.

 This gentleman, Geert D'hollander and his daughter Rosalie were playing the carillon.

 The tower is nicknamed "The Singing Tower"

 And here were our musicians after the performance.

 We got back to the RV Park just in time for the 4:00 social hour, sorry no pictures.

Second baby donkey

We have our second new baby donkey of the season this morning here next to Sumter Oaks RV Park.

Sumter Oaks RV Park

We have been parked here at Sumter Oaks RV Park since thee end of last October.  Our campsite is at the east end of the campground looking out on to the farm next door.

The farm has 6 donkeys that have free run of most of the farm.  They often come down to the fence in hope of someone from the campground feeding them carrots or other tidbits.

Between Christmas and New Year our son Mike stopped for a visit on their way to Orlando.  Our youngest granddaughter got to see the donkeys.

Just in the last few days one of the donkeys gave birth to a new one.
